A sound liner keeps heat away from the framing behind your walls and protects the masonry from corrosive flue gases. In a multi-flue chimney each flue has its own liner and its own condition, and it is common to find one sound and another cracked in the same stack. A cracked liner is unsafe regardless of the others. We reline with FireGuard ceramic or a stainless steel liner, flue by flue as each requires.
Dryer Vent Cleaning
Lint buildup in a dryer vent is a leading cause of household fires. Older large homes in this neighborhood frequently have laundry located far from any exterior wall, which produces the longest vent runs we see anywhere in the county. Length plus turns equals accumulation. If a load takes two cycles to dry, the run needs clearing.
